Help us reach our goal of $60,000!

Gather your friends and family and take the plunge for the YMCA of Centre County!

Why take the Plunge?
In addition to having a lot of fun with your fearless friends and family, the funds you raise to “take the plunge” supports vital YMCA programs including:

Open Doors Program: provides financial assistance for YMCA memberships and programs for kids, adults, and families in need. This program ensures that no one is turned away from the Y due to inability to pay.

Backpack Program – Together with local school districts, the YMCA of Centre County has implemented this anti-hunger program to provide students food to eat over the weekend when they are not in school. Last year, over 700 students in 6 school districts benefited from this program.

Designed exclusively for school teams participating in the Polar Bear Plunge, the challenge gives students in elementary through high school the opportunity to participate in a fun group activity while supporting the YMCA’s Backpack and Open Doors Programs. By registering under the Cool School Challenge category, teams have the opportunity to earn money for their own school. Each Cool School team that raises $2,500 or more will see 15 percent of the money they raised go to their school. In order to qualify for the donation back, 50% of team must be students, administrators or teachers at the school, and you must contact and register with Liz
