Help us reach our goal of raising $60,000!

Gather your friends and family and take the plunge for the YMCA of Centre County!

Why take the Plunge?

Brave, generous volunteer “plungers” raise funds for the YMCA and then “plunge” into the chilly water at Black Moshannon State Park on December 3, 2016. Funds raised support two YMCA programs that directly benefit kids and families from your community.

Open Doors: Provides financial assistance to ensure no one is turned away from the YMCA due to inability to pay. So far this year, over 2,400 people in Centre County have benefited from this program.

Backpack Weekend Food Program: Provides a backpack of food for students to eat on weekends when they are not receiving a school lunch. This program serves over 700 students in seven school districts.

Select a brave volunteer(s) from your school to take the plunge for the YMCA on December 3, 2016. Get the whole school involved in raising funds through penny drives, “jeans day”, online fundraising, and other creative ideas to support your plunger. The school district that raises the most money receives an award and bragging rights. The YMCA is also awarding a Pizza Party for the classroom/homeroom or school club/team raising the most money in the Cool School Challenge! The party will be held at the YMCA branch of the winning group’s choice.
