Homeschool Physical Education ~ Homeschool children ages 6-12 can participate in structured Physical Education and/or swim classes to meet their P.E. requirements. Inclu­sive games and lifetime fitness activities are the focus of the program designed by a PA certified Health and P.E. Teacher.

Kids’ Night Out ~ All school-aged children are invited to have fun night at the YMCA. Play organized games in the gym or swim. Children under age 8 need to have a parent present in order to swim. Activities will be held in the aerobic room for younger children.   Will be held on  9/24, 10/22, 11/19, 12/17 from 7:30-9:00 PM.  Cost: Free/Members & $5.00/Non-members

 

Preschool Soccer ~ This is an instructional, non-competitive co-ed league designed to introduce your child to the basics of soccer. The program is for children ages 3 to 5 years. Teams will meet Saturdays from 10:30-11:30 AM at Governor’s Park for ½ hour of practice and instruction followed by ½ hour of play. All players will receive a team t-shirt as well as an end of the season award. Players need to provide their own shin guards. Volunteer coaches and team sponsors are needed. Rock Climbing  (Ages 8 & Up) ~ Participants learn how to harness themselves, tie a variety of knots, learn climbing and bouldering techniques and possibly learn how to belay and repel by the end of the class. Parents are welcome and encouraged to participate with their children.

 

Synchronized Swimming (Ages 10 & Up) ~ This class is designed to teach the fun skills necessary for synchronized swimming. Synchro is a great way for children to get exercise and gain strength in a fun, interactive pool activity. Children must be able to tread water for one minute and swim 50 yards. Youth Basketball Clinic (Grades 3-5):  With a combination of sports specific conditioning and skill development, this 8-week program will help prepare your child for the upcoming basketball season. Youth Pioneer Basketball  (For Girls & Boys Grades K-6):  The Pioneer program is designed to teach boys and girls basketball fundamentals in a fun environment. Every participant gets to play a minimum of half of each game. Practices begin the first week of December with games starting once a week in January.
