The Pioneer program is designed to teach boys and girls basketball fundamentals in a fun environment. Every participant gets to play a minimum of half of each game. Practices begin the first week of December with games starting once a week in January. A total of eight games are played with the programs ending in late February.

What's each week like?

Grades K-2 will meet once/week for one hour beginning in early December. The first 3 meetings are for practices. In January, the hour will be split between 30 minutes of practice and 30 minutes of game play.

Grades 3-6 will have practice only for the first 3 weeks of December. Beginning in January, they will have one practice and one game/week.

Volunteer Coaches Needed!!

Volunteers are an integral part of the Pioneer Basketball program. Under the guidance of the Sports Director, coaches teach fundamental skills while maintaining a fun and encouraging environment. If you are interested in becoming part of the Pioneer team, download the Volunteer Packet and submit to Dan at the State College Branch.

Coaches Application

Head Coach Responsibilities (must be age 18 or older):

• Complete application

• Agree to a criminal history/background check.

• Attend a pre-season meeting (November 15 at 7:00 PM).

• Attend player evaluations (grades 3-6 only).

• Maintain contact with players/parents and assistant coach.

• Attend weekly games and practices.

Assistant Coach Responsibilities

• Complete application
