Child Care and Member Services Staff
The YMCA of Centre County’s Penns Valley Branch is hiring a Full-Time Child Care & Member Services Staff member who will work directly with children in our licensed child care programs and provide excellent customer service at the front desk/member services area.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:30 AM–2:00 PM at the YMCA Front Desk and 2:15 PM–6:00 PM in the After School Program at Centre Hall Elementary.

Job Responsibilities
Child Care:
- Supervise and ensure the safety of children in the after school program.
- Plan and lead fun, age-appropriate activities that encourage learning and growth.
- Provide positive guidance, redirection, and encouragement in line with DPW child care regulations.
- Communicate daily with parents and guardians about their child’s experiences.
- Assist with attendance, meal counts, incident reports, and classroom setup/cleanup.
Member Services:
- Greet and assist members, guests, and program participants in a professional and friendly manner.
- Process memberships, program registrations, and payments using YMCA systems.
- Answer phones, provide tours, and share information about YMCA programs and services.
- Keep the service desk and lobby areas clean, organized, and welcoming.
- Support facility operations, including opening/closing procedures as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; experience or education in child development, education, or human services is helpful.
- Experience working with children (child care, camp, babysitting, or school setting).
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Computer proficiency.
