Why take the Plunge?
Make plans to head to Black Moshannon State Park on Saturday, December 7, 2019 for an outing with family, friends, co-workers, or any group of FUNdraisers! Every dollar you raise supports YOUR YMCA! This year, our four branches are challenging each other to have the most brave volunteer “plungers” and to raise the most money to support their community!
Ages 16 & Up: Raise a minimum of $50.00 and take the plunge!
Ages 8 to 15: Raise a minimum of $25.00 and take the plunge!
Super Plungers sponsored by MilliporeSigma
The few, the kind-hearted, the brave risk-takers… Raise a minimum of $300 and take the plunge 3 times.
NEW THIS YEAR: Frozen 500 Fanatics
Challenge yourself to raise at least $500 to support YOUR YMCA! Frozen 500 Fanatics will be entered for a Visa Gift Card. (You CAN be a Super Plunger AND a Frozen 500 Fanatic, but it is not required!)
COOL SCHOOL CHALLENGE
Get your school’s students, teachers, staff, and administrators involved in supporting their YMCA! Designate a brave volunteer or gather a whole team from your school to take the plunge! Get the whole school involved in raising funds through penny drives, “jeans day”, online fundraising, or other creative ideas to support your plunger(s). The school district that raises the most money will be presented the Cool School Polar Bear trophy to display until next year’s event. If applicable, the YMCA will also award a Pizza Party to the classroom/homeroom or school club/team raising the most money in the Cool School Challenge! Contact Jamie ([email protected]) to get your school involved.
- Best Costume: If you’re plunging with a team, pick a theme and plan ahead! (Costumes are judged before actually “taking the plunge” so can be removed prior to plunging if preferred.) If you are plunging as an individual, you’ve got free reign of your costume! Our 2018 winner was an individual, not a team!
- Most money raised by an individual
- Most money raised by a team (organization, club or company)
