Join us for a lunch and learn event where Ann from Koo-Weh Nana will be talking about Indonesia and preparing some of the country’s traditional foods.

About Indonesia: With a population of more than 270 million people, Indonesia straddles the Equator between the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. Its neighboring countries are Malaysia, East Timor, Papua New Guinea, Australia, Palau, the Philippines, Vietnam,
Singapore, Thailand, and India. It has more than 17,508 islands, 1,340 ethnic groups, and over 300 different native languages. There are more than 5,000 traditional recipes based on indigenous culture and some with foreign influences.

Food to Be Served: During this event, participants will enjoy Pandan cake and Nastar cookies. Nastar, a Dutch influenced cookie, is a popular traditional sweet served to celebrate Christmas, Eid, Chinese New Year, and other festivities. Pandan cake is a traditional cake flavored with extract from pandan leaves (vanilla of the East).
