All delayed openings or closure of the branch will be determined by the Shawn Thompson.
You may refer to the YMCA of Centre County mobile app, our website’s alerts page, or call the branch at 814-355-5551 for up-to-date information on schedule changes, cancellations, or facility closures.
Child Care
The Child Care Program will follow normal hours unless changed by Heather Heckman or Katie Fisher or the following schedule changes are made by the Bellefonte Area School District.
- If the Bellefonte Area School District closes, all day care is provided for school age children enrolled in our After School Programs at the Bellefonte YMCA.
- If the Bellefonte Area School District delays opening, there will be before school care provided for school age children at Bellefonte Elementary School (for children enrolled at Bellefonte Elementary)
- If the Bellefonte Area School District dismisses early, care will be provided at the child’s school.
Wellness
In the case of a Bellefonte Area School District cancellation:
- No classes will take place before 11 am
- No Semi Private Training sessions will take place until after 11 am- unless otherwise specified by the trainer
In the case of a Bellefonte Area School District 2 or 3 hour delay:
- No Silver Sneakers classes will take place
- All other classes will remain scheduled
- No Semi Private Training sessions before 9 am will take place
In the case of a Bellefonte Area School District early dismissal:
- No evening or afternoon classes will take place
All personal trainers working with private training clients will be in charge of choosing whether to re schedule or continue with their trainings.
All instructors and trainers must notify Annie Dombrowski via phone before cancelling classes.
Push Notifications will be sent with changes to the schedule on the YMCA of Center County App and website.
Child Watch
If the Bellefonte Area School District has the following schedule changes due to inclement weather, the child watch program’s hours will be adjusted accordingly.
- Two hour delay: AM Child Watch Closed
- Early Dismissal: PM Child Watch Closed
- Closed: AM Child Watch Closed. Call 814-355-5551 for evening Child Watch hours
If all YMCA programs/classes are cancelled due to inclement weather, Child Watch will be closed also.
Swim Team
Head Coaches will make a decision by 2:00 PM. The Member Service Desk will be notified by 2:00 PM of any changes.
