OPEN DOORS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
DOWNLOAD OPEN DOORS GUIDELINES AND APPLICATION
With a commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility, the YMCA of Centre County welcomes all who wish to participate regardless of their ability to pay. Centre County is a very generous community, committed to helping their neighbors. Every year, YMCA donors give generously to support the Open Doors Program through the Annual Giving Campaign.
The OPEN DOORS Program provides financial assistance with YMCA membership and program fees for kids, adults, and families with a demonstrated need. Applicants may qualify from 10% to 80% off the membership rate, based on their application, documentation, and household. Every YMCA member receives the same membership benefits, regardless of whether or not they are an Open Doors participant. All YMCA members can feel confident knowing that they are a part of an organization that cares greatly for the well-being of all people, and is committed to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
To apply for Open Doors, complete an application form and gather required documentation. Printed applications can be obtained and your completed application and documentation should be submitted at any of our locations: Bellefonte, Moshannon Valley (Philipsburg), Penns Valley (Spring Mills), State College. Reviewing applications, documentation, and determining assistance amounts is handled by YMCA branches confidentially in a fair and consistent manner.
