ANTI-HUNGER VIRTUAL 5K
Saturday, May 23 from 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM
Cost: $10 per person (no refunds – rain or shine)
We won’t be able to host our annual Black Moshannon 5K Run/Walk this year, but stay fit and help others by registering for our Anti-Hunger Virtual 5K. All registration fees will support our Anti-Hunger Program, which has been working tirelessly to provide families and kids with the food they need during this difficult time.
How It Works: You have from 12:00 am -11:59 pm to run a 5k. Once you’ve completed your run (outside or on a treadmill), take a picture of your mileage and time (any running app or watch will do). Email the picture, along with your name and age, to Chris Calliari at [email protected]. The top three male and female winners from the age categories below will receive a YMCA Hunger Hero pin and ribbon! All participants will receive a Hunger Hero Certificate. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, May 26th.

“The Black Moshannon 5k/10k and fun walk was started in 1980 by Mary Ann Williams. As a very good runner herself, she directed the race for 25 years. Runners from all over Pennsylvania, Michigan, West Virginia, New York, and other states have a history of showing up in the beautiful Black Moshannon State Park every Memorial Day Weekend. After Mary Ann’s retirement from coordinating the race, the reigns were handed over to, the one and only, Dave Caslow. With Dave’s guidance, the race has continued to grow and has helped raise money to support the YMCA of Centre County and the local community. The event started as a run but has become a great Saturday morning kickoff to the Memorial Day Holiday for the entire family.”
