Child Care

All programs will be held at the State College Family YMCA (AM & PM) 677 West Whitehall Road, State College, PA 16801

MORNING PROGRAM 7am to 8am*(Must arrive no later that 7:25)


Building on the values of Caring, Respect, Responsibility and Respect, we offer a variety of activities including outdoor sports and games, indoor games, arts and crafts, table games, quiet time, homework time, special projects, nutritious snacks, and fun! the programs run in accordance with the State College Area School District school calendar and times.


The Y’s School Age Child Care (SACC) program provides a safe and nurturing place for children during before and after school hours.  The program is designed to enhance the physical, educational and moral well-being of children; helping them to learn, grow and thrive.  We provide children with supervised activities that are enjoyable and stimulating.  Overall, we want children to have FUN and to develop lasting friendships.


The Y’s SACC programs run in accordance with the SCASD school calendar and times.

AM Care 7:00 AM -8:00 AM
PM Care 3:00 PM-6:00 PM
Inservice Days* 7:30 AM-6:00 PM
Snow Days*    8:00 AM -5:30 PM – YMCA’s Inclement Weather Policy

The Y’s SACC program serves these SCASD Elementary Schools:  Corl Street, Easterly Parkway, Nittany Christian, Our Lady of Victory, Park Forest, Radio Park, Young Scholar,  and Ferguson Township Elementary.

AM Schools served 7:00 – 8:00am – Easterly, Corl and Ferguson
PM Schools served 3:00 – 6:00pm – Easterly, Corl, Ferguson, Park Forest, Radio Park, Our Lady of Victory, Young Scholar

Students enrolled in SACC at the State College YMCA facility site will be bused to and from by SCASD, except for Park Forest and Radio Park Elementary and which will be privately bused to the YMCA. All other sites are dismissed within the school to report to the on-site YMCA program, and vice versa before school.

In-service/Snow Days  $39/day    $49/day
Program fees are due by the 5th of each month.  Direct payment options by bank draft or credit card are available.  Inquire at the Service Desk at the YMCA.

The Y’s warm and friendly staff are carefully selected for their experience and desire to work with children.  All staff are First Aid/CPR certified and have had a fingerprint, criminal record and child abuse clearance check.  The staff to child ratio is 1 to 12.


The YMCA of Centre County recognizes the need to serve all members of the community, particularly those economically less advantaged, who are not able to pay the full cost of the membership or program fee.  To apply for financial assistance ask a member service representative for an application.
