Suicide Prevention Training – State College

At the State College YMCA
In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, YMCA of Centre County and Jana Marie Foundation are partnering to host a Public QPR Suicide Prevention Training on Tuesday, May 2 from 6 PM to 7:30 PM.
The 1.5 hour long training will teach participants how to recognize warning signs of developing a mental health challenge or crisis and then teach the 3 simple steps (Question, Persuade, Refer) to help someone who is considering suicide. The training is evidence-based and has been shown to reduce rates of death by suicide and suicide attempts where it is taught. Pizza will be provided.
