Gymnastics Coordinator

Moshannon Valley Branch

The Moshannon Valley Branch of the YMCA of Centre County is seeking a Gymnastics Coordinator.  Previous instructing and coaching experience in gymnastics is required in addition to comprehensive knowledge of the sport.  This part-time position will oversee and plan practices, manage and supervise assistant instructors, assist with the development of and monitor the department budget, plan for and coach at competitive meets, and communicate with parents/guardians about student progress.  Successful candidates will not only have the previously mentioned qualifications but also be positive, enthusiastic, and consistently hard working. Head Swim Team Coach

State College Branch

The State College Branch of the YMCA of Centre County is seeking an experienced, community-focused Head Swim Team Coach for the SCAY Aqualions. This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package. Successful applicants will have at least 5 years of coaching experience that demonstrates successful program development and management, character-driven leadership, excellent communication skills, and a personal commitment to the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. The Head Coach will be responsible for developing and supervising practices for all levels of swimmers; hiring, training, scheduling, and mentoring assistant coaches; and working closely with the parent committee on tasks such as recruiting and managing meet volunteers. Previous experience with Meet Manager and Team Unify software preferred as is a current lifeguard certification; familiarity with the Y USA swim lesson curriculum; and USA Swimming and YMCA Swim Coach certifications. Expected start date is in August 2017. Summer Lunch Staff

Multiple Locations

The YMCA of Centre County is now hiring for part-time Summer Lunch Program Staff to serve meals as part of our Anti-Hunger Program, which serves more than 500 children each day from June through August. Lunches are free and available to any child in the community. Staff are needed across our sites in Centre County, including the following areas: Bellefonte, Penns Valley, and State College. The YMCA of Centre County’s Bellefonte Branch has openings for experienced and motivated Group Exercise Instructors. We are looking for enthusiastic team members certified in any (or multiple) of the following areas: yoga, Zumba, Pilates, Barre, or a general fitness/group exercise certification. These part-time positions offer potential scheduling flexibility and the opportunity to creatively engage the community in getting active together. Summer Child Care Staff

Bellefonte & State College Branches

The YMCA of Centre County’s Bellefonte Branch is accepting applications for part-time positions in our Early Care and Education Program and our Summer Camp for school-age children. Potential candidates must possess a minimum of 15 credit hours in Early Education, Elementary Education, or the Human Service field and/or have experience working with children. Working hours vary Monday through Friday between 6:30am-6:00pm. Moshannon Valley & Penns Valley Branches

The Moshannon Valley Branch of the YMCA of Centre County is seeking energetic, dependable child care staff for the on-site before- and after-school program as well as for the Summer Day Camp.  Applicants must have a degree in a related field to qualify for the Group Supervisor position, for which the starting rate is $9.15 per hour ($9.85 if you work a split shift of both before- and after-school care). Other applicants should have a minimum of 15 credit hours in Early Education, Elementary Education, or the Human Service field and/or have experience working with children.Successful candidates will be required to obtain or provide copies of current PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse, and FBI Fingerprint clearances.  Inquiries, resumes, and cover letters should be directed to Child Care Director Kayla Bailey at [email protected] or 814-342-0889.

The Penns Valley Program Center is also seeking energetic, dependable child care staff for the after-school program. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 2-6pm with the possibility for more hours. Potential candidates must possess a minimum of 15 credit hours in Early Education, Elementary Education, or the Human Service field and/or have experience working with children. Child Watch Staff

State College Branch

The State College Branch of the YMCA of Centre County has openings this summer for part-time friendly and reliable child watch staff.  Child watch is a child care service offered to family members while they workout or participate in wellness programming. Previous experience in customer service or working with children is preferred but not required. The Bellefonte Branch of the YMCA of Centre County is seeking Assistant Gymnastics Instructors to teach Saturday lessons. Previous instructing experience in gymnastics is required. Successful candidates will not only have the previously mentioned qualifications but also be positive, enthusiastic, and consistently hard working. Part-time starting wage is $8-10/hour, depending on experience.
